It’s been a glorious February day here in central Texas, and I spent the day in the yard. Those weeds go to seed far too quickly.
While pulling weeds, I was thinking of you, of course, dear readers! This week’s blog is a reprise of two earlier posts with suggestions for making the most of garden tours, plus some of my favorite gardens to explore.
First, two previous blog posts about visiting gardens on tour:
Now, four recommendations for gardens to visit this spring
Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens in Humble
Peckerwood Garden in Hempstead, started by one of my architecture professors at Texas A&M University, John Fairey, there are splendid plant combinations here
Fort Worth Nature Center & Wildlife Refuge - while the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens and the Japanese Garden are definitely worth a visit, the Nature Center provides insight into how nature combines native plants, and the site design offers ideas for accessibility solutions
The Garden Capital of Texas - NACOGDOCHES! If you haven’t visited East Texas in the spring, plan to spend a long weekend in Nacogdoches and get your fill
Let me know what you plan to tour this spring and what you're interested to explore on your visits.
